Peterloo Anniversary Walk

300px-Peterloo_MassacreThe story of the Peterloo Massacre will be exploited in a history walk led by leading Manchester historian, Michael Herbert, on Saturday 17 August, staring at 11.45am from the Friends Meeting House, Mount Street, Manchester

On 16 August 1819 an unarmed, peaceful crowd, gathered in the centre of Manchester to demand basic political rights, was attacked by the military, resulting in many deaths and injuries. This walk will explore the political and historical background and trace the events on the day. The walk costs £6/£5. Places can be booked by emailing ; redflagwalks@gmail.com
